Installing and Running Android Apps on Your PC

Installing and Running Android Apps on Your PC

Though everybody nowadays has a smartphone running on Android or iOS or Windows Phone OS or, in rare cases, BB OS 10, there are times when you want to run mobile applications on your Desktop or Laptop. Well there are many emulators out there to help you with this.  Android applications have a very simple setup though and we will use Bluestacks to do this.

Obtaining Bluestacks

You can search up "Bluestacks download" or else download it from here.

But there are system requirements that your PC must satisfy.

Installing

After you have downloaded the ~12 MB file, install it. This will start the installation and download some other requisite files over the internet. So make sure that your machine is online.

Running Applications on the Emulator

After the Bluestacks emulator is set-up, we need the applications which are to be run. So download the .apk of those applications onto your machine. You can find .apk files of many applications from apkdrawer.
Now all you gotta do on your laptop / desktop is double-click on the downloaded .apk files, just like you would do with normal applications with .exe extensions. Bluestacks will automatically take over and start an emulated device, with the application running in it.

That's it ! You now have android apps up and running on your PC.
